I do compile my own distro; I use Gentoo :)

Re: ACPI Kernel issue

When I get some free time I'll send a bug report to the LKML. Perhaps C6 for SBC-FITPC2 could be blacklisted in the kernel so future vanilla installs are stable. Frankly, I think blacklisting in the kernel should be a last resort. It would be nice to have an official response from CompuLab on this ...

It seems to be ok. Twice over the weekend I pushed about 1GB over to it, without hanging. I'll continue to keep an eye on it for the next couple weeks to be sure.

Re: ACPI Kernel issue

Bummer, I guess I haven't stressed my system enough. Two weeks of uptime without a single incident. Pebenito, can you test with max_cstate=3 since I'm having trouble hitting the bug? I did some more digging and powertop gives interesting output. At max_cstate=4, powertop says: Your CPU supports the...

Re: ACPI Kernel issue

I finally got around hooking a monitor to my FIT-PC2 to change some BIOS settings. I've been running in the GV3 state for quite some time and it works fine. Regardless it would be nice to figure out the real problem for the system hangs. The c-states available on the CPU are: C0-C4 + C6. The C6 mod...

Re: intermittent ethernet failure

I'm seeing this too. Check out this thread: http://www.fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1301
Using only GV3 seems to have worked for me. I still need to try the other things (max cstate and processor_latency) that were suggested later in the thread with 2.6.31.
