I had the same problem but with last system update (Linux argo 2.6.32-ARCH #1) everything is working fine.

I'll try to change BIOS setting when I'll have a screen!:)
For the moment I can just ssh my fitpc.
I'll let you know if this solves my strange behaviour.

There are a lot of howtos on internet depending on your distribution. I installed arch linux on my fitpc2 and followed the wiki page on wiki.archlinux.org.
