I waited more than 20 sec..
As the equipment has been working not long ago, it seems most unlikely that any of it is faulty (unless there's somewhere a slack joint).

Re: IDE and SATA to USB adapter
Before and after connecting the HDD, there's no difference in the result in the terminal.

Re: IDE and SATA to USB adapter
How do you run "fdisk -l"?
I just wrote "fdisk -l" in the terminal and pressed "Enter", but nothing appears.

Re: IDE and SATA to USB adapter
Many thanks yogev_ezra! My adapter isn't exactly identical with the one on the picture, but the parts are very similar and probably with the same functions. So there's no problem with the connection of a SATA equipment to the power adapter, even though the power requirements of IDE and SATA equipmen...

IDE and SATA to USB adapter
Olá, Can anybody recommend a IDE and SATA to USB adapter? I bought one, but any equipment that I connect with it to the Fit-PC2i isn't detected on the Ubuntu 10.04 OS. There is a little CD included with apparently a driver-software, but I can't install it. Many thanks in advance for any help! manoka

Huawei E220 modem unable to keep connection under "Karmic"
Hello,
My E220 works fine on 10.04, but not on 9.10.
Is there a way to get it working on 9.10 without a connection to the internet?
Many thanks in advance!
manoka

Re: HDD not listed in "Computer"
Again... this is exactly the problem in discussed in the thread mentioned before: I won't work with a batch file as the hard drive won't be detected at boot with the default vanilla on the iso. Obviously I should not use Ubuntu 10.04 with this PC, as I'm far from being an IT expert, I have no clue ...

Re: HDD not listed in "Computer"
Sorry, I just remembered that I probably was wrong about the installation. It is likely that during the installation also just the 4GB HD showed up, and that it was this one that I programmed to be erased and used in its entirety. I'm beginning to wonder whether the WD HDD is defective. But then cou...

Re: Skype doesn't work on Fit-PC2i with Ubuntu 10.04
Yes, that's pretty much what it displays.fly wrote:If it display something like "WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate: 48000 Hz, mon" it should be setup correct.
But now there's still no sound - so what else can be done?

Re: HDD not listed in "Computer"
Again., this looks like a fitpc2i from the pilot batch of the series. According to the Serial number it is. The solution is described at [1].[1] http://fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=1651 This thread appears to be just about the server version of Ubuntu 10.04. But I have the desktop version...
