Re: IDE and SATA to USB adapter
First I tried "sudo mkdir /mnt/usbdisk" - with no output. Then I just entered "mkdir /mnt/usbdisk" - output: "mkdir: cannot create directory `/mnt/usbdisk': File exists" The USB-HDD is detected, but I get still the same message when trying to open it. I also noticed that today booting was stopped or...

Re: IDE and SATA to USB adapter
I probably did, though probably not through the command in the terminal, but by clicking on "Safely Remove Drive". The reply from "sudo umount /mnt/usbdisk" is: "umount: /mnt/usbdisk: not found" I checked whether a HDD was mounted via USB (with "sudo fdisk -l") and got the following result - which I...

Re: IDE and SATA to USB adapter
After completing the installation of Linux Mint 9, I was trying to mount the same HDD which worked before via the same USB adapter, but now I'm getting a message which reads:
"Unable to mount 298 GB Filesystem
Error mounting: mount: Stale NFS file handle"
What could be the cause and the solution?

Re: How to install the BIOS update on Ubuntu
After I downloaded the two update files, I was trying to write an image onto my USB memory stick, but the Image Writer does not detect the files, whether they have been extracted or not.
What could be the solution to this problem?

Re: Linux Mint 9 is officially supported
Thanks for making this installation available to us! I have a bit of experience to share: 1) In order to get resolution compatible with my monitor, I had to change my xorg.conf so the "Screen" section became: Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen0" Device "Card0" Monitor "Monitor0" SubSection "Displa...

Re: How to apply CompuLab repository
With your command I got a read only list - so I wasn't able to add and save the codes. Then I tried: sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list This way I was able to add and save the lines like this: _________________________________________________________________________ GNU nano 2.2.2 File: /etc/apt/sourc...

Re: Linux Mint 9 is officially supported
I'm afraid this makes no difference.radioxid wrote:Once you have opened nano using Lucian's command and pasted the lines you have to press ^o to write the changes and then ^x to close nano.
Besides that, I was able to write the changes without pressing anything after the commands.
