Reliability of fit-pc2

Post by lovric »

Hello,

I would like to know if a fit-pc2 has been powered for a very long time (several months) without hanging or being damaged (either under Linux or Windows).

Regards

Hi,

My couple of fit-PC2s have been powered for about six or seven months without any problem.

Never powered off for six months.
A few reboots to update the kernel.
That's it.

My fit-PC2s are running GNU/Linux Ubuntu 9.04 server.

Regards.

No issues with XP or win7 so far. One of mine have been going for 3 months and has been overclocked with no issues........

I have one Fit-PC2 with Debian 5.0, and the other with Windows XP SP3 - both running since July 2009 with only 1 switch off.

From my experience, Linux can run without any problems for a few months, while Windows never survived more than about 3 weeks without reboot. Note that I run Outlook, Firefox, UltraEdit, few PuTTY sessions and even more software for 24/7.
