Wish list: S/PDIF

This product looks like it would make a great HTPC, except that it's missing S/PDIF. I'm hoping that the on-board sound drivers allow re-mapping one of the 1/8" plugs for digital output?

No. fit-PC2 does not bring out digital audio.

It's very annoying for a small computer that can play HD video (H264)
It's not planned to add advanced sound's feature to the FitPC2 ?

Maybe at least output digital audio through HDMI. hope that you will be able to develop such a feature soon.

Does anyone know how to take the digital audio from the usb in ubuntu?
IF you can do that, you can convert it to SPDIF.

Anyway, it's a shame really. I almost bought this PC2. I guess I will wait for the next version......

I suppose one might use an external sound device over USB. Searching on Amazon turned up several, relatively inexpensive devices.

My main reason for buying the Fit-PC2 would be as a small silent audio player.

So I would like to see S/PDIF output and also for the analog audio output to be of the highest quality (particularly the S/N ratio). When low quality DACs are used the audio sounds terrible.

Some people are asking for things like extra LAN socket, extra HDMI socket etc. but I would rather see things added that are completely missing from the Fit-PC2 instead of adding more of the features that are already included.

I found an old Terratec Producer Phase 26 USB somewhere, it's about the size of a 5,25" CD-ROM drive, but works nicely.
