Hi,
I downloaded and flashed the BIOS but it is still the same one as before dated 06/27/2012 with no SATA III support.
When will you release an updated BIOS as promised?
Thanks,
Jean
Mint claims SATA-II controller
Re: Mint claims SATA-II controller
We apologize for the delay. The new BIOS will be released until 20/Sep/2012.
Re: Mint claims SATA-II controller
BIOS with SATA-III support has been released at http://www.fit-pc.com/wiki/index.php/Fi ... _ROM_Files.
Re: Mint claims SATA-II controller
Thanks Igor. I just flashed the BIOS and made sure SATA 3 was choosen in the BIOS and although the controller now seems to be recognized as SATA 6 Gps my mSATA Crucial M4 CT032M4SSD3 SSD is still running at SATA II 3.0 Gps. This is a SATA III 6 Gps drive. My other drive is a Seagate ST250LT003 SATA II 3.0 gps.
Running Mint 13 Mate 64 bits installed as per the instructions on the wiki.
Am I missing something here?
Regards,
Jean

Re: Mint claims SATA-II controller
Hi, I just did a test with Disk Utility.
279 Mb/s read speed for the mSATA SSD. This looks like SATA II speed only.

Jean

Re: Mint claims SATA-II controller
Just to be sure that the mSATA Crucial SSD support SATA III, I ran hdparm -I /dev/sdb as root.
Here is the relevant output:
* Gen1 signaling speed (1.5Gb/s)
* Gen2 signaling speed (3.0Gb/s)
* Gen3 signaling speed (6.0Gb/s)
It does indeed support the 3 SATA modes and the asterix beside them indicate they are all enabled.
