I have the FIT2i and it is working very well and have another
one on the way, BUT I have no idea how to get audio out of
the PC,I have the cable that came with PC,but it has an RCA
connection on the end, what kind of speaker can I connect
that to ?, I have been on Ebay looking for splitter boxes ,ect
but to no avail, just would like to have some sound,
Is there any kind of speaker that would just plug into the SPDIF
outlet ? please keep answers simple, afraid i am not an audiophile
I hope someone will be able to help, thanks

How do I connect SPDIF cable to speakers?
Re: How do I connect SPDIF cable to speakers?
SPDIF used for a dedicated equipment, like amplifiers, home theaters, etc. It is not for speakers.
general purpose PC speakers connected via 3.5mm regular jack.
the cable supplied is an accessory for different kinds of adjustments if needed.

So are you saying I can plug a regular PC speaker with a 3.5 mm jack
into the SPDFI socket on the FIT 2 i PC and it will work?

no, the 3.5mm audio jack shares both analog and digital (SPDIF audio). It uses another 1-wire signal which is SPDIF. Only dedicated equipment can support this.

Re: How do I connect SPDIF cable to speakers?
Please forgive my ignorance on this matter, but what is dedicated equipment?
I am thinking of buying a 3.5 mm 4 pole jack adapter cable thingy, that splits into a MIC socket and a headphone/speaker connection, any idea if that would work?, I dont really understand why Compulab made the FIT this
way when most other PCs just have a straight forward jack point where you can just plug in a regular speaking system and get some audio out.
Thanks for your help, but simply (if its possible) how do I get audio out, anyone else been able to do this and how?
regards and thanks Worgeordie

analog audio output is straightforward.
digital audio output (SPDIF) requires SPDIF compatible devices.
